Grading Standards
This page contains examples of our grading standards, so that you will know what your card will look like when you receive it. Along with each description of our grades there is a link to some examples of cards for that grade. This should help with any of your questions.
Near Mint (NM)
Centering - 70/30 or better on the front, 80/20 or better on the back.
Corners - Must have 4 nice corners, one may show the slightest touch of wear.
Edges - May have some very minor chipping or notching.
Surface - 1 or 2 very minor scratches or print marks are allowed.
Excellent to Mint (EX/MT)
Centering - 80/20 or better on the front, 90/10 or better on the back.
Corners - Up to 3 corners may show a touch of wear.
Edges - Some very minor chipping and notching is allowed.
Surface - May have surface wear or a printing defect but no scuffing. Focus may be slightly out of registration.
Excellent (EX)
Centering - 80/20 or better on the front, 95/5 or better on the back.
Corners - All 4 corners may show fraying of light rounding.
Edges - Minor chipping and notching is allowed.
Surface - Surface wear and printing defects are more visible.
Very Good (VG)
Centering - 90/10 or better on the front, 100/0 or better on the back.
Corners - Rounded or notched with slight layering.
Edges - Heavy chipping and notching, moderate layering.
Surface - Some print spots and minor surface creases, wax stains and focus imperfections are noticable.
Good (G) - This is our lowest grade.
Centering - 100/0 or better on the front, 100/0 or better on the back.
Corners - Heavily rounded or notched corners with moderate layering.
Edges - Heavily chipped, notched or layered.
Surface - Severe print spots and noticeable multiple creases, moderate ink or tape stains.
